These Terms of Service are the agreement between you and Pronounce Korean. They cover our mobile app, our website at web.pronouncekorean.com, and the paid programs and live classes we run.
Please read them. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Who can use the Service
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or join a paid program. If the law where you live sets a different minimum age at which you can agree to online services on your own, that age applies instead, and it is never below 13.
You must give accurate information when you register, keep your password confidential, and tell us promptly if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
One account is for one person. Do not share, sell, or transfer your account.
3. What the Service does
Pronounce Korean helps you learn to speak Korean through lessons, speaking exercises with automated pronunciation scoring, quizzes, and progress tracking. Some plans and programs also include live classes and group chat.
We improve the Service continuously, so features change. We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service. If we discontinue a paid feature you have already paid for, we will give you a pro-rata refund for the part you cannot use, or a comparable replacement.
The Service teaches a language. It does not guarantee any particular result, score, exam outcome, or level of fluency. How much you learn depends mostly on how much you practise.
4. Subscriptions and payment
4.1 Purchases through the app stores
Subscriptions bought inside our iOS or Android app are processed by Apple or Google, not by us. When you buy one:
Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
The subscription renews automatically at the same price and interval unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage and cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings at any time. Uninstalling the app does not cancel it.
Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
Prices are shown before you confirm, and include or exclude tax according to the store's rules for your country. We may change prices for future periods, and we will give you notice before a changed price applies to a renewal.
4.2 Purchases on our website
Paid programs bought on our website are processed by PayPal in US dollars. The price and what is included are shown on the order page before you pay, and the payment button makes clear that placing the order creates an obligation to pay. You will receive a confirmation by email.
Our paid challenge program is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It does not renew and it will not charge you again. Where one month of app premium is included in a program, that month also does not auto-renew.
4.3 Refunds
Refunds, cancellation, and your statutory right of withdrawal are set out in our Refunds and Cancellation policy, which forms part of these Terms. Nothing in these Terms limits refund rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.
5. Live classes and programs
Programs run as a group with a limited number of places for a set number of weeks. We schedule live sessions around the participants who join, and we record sessions and share the recording with participants so you are covered if you miss one.
By joining a live session you accept that it will be recorded and shared with the other participants in your group. If you do not want to appear, you may keep your camera and microphone off. Do not record, copy, or redistribute sessions, materials, or other participants' contributions.
Treat other participants with respect. We may remove anyone from a group or a session for abusive, harassing, or disruptive behaviour.
6. Your content
"Your content" means anything you submit: voice recordings, messages, answers, feedback, and anything you post in a group.
You keep ownership of your content. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and process it only so that we can operate the Service for you, provide support, and improve how accurately the Service scores pronunciation and teaches. We may use aggregated and de-identified information derived from your content, which no longer identifies you, without restriction.
This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except that we may keep copies where section 6 of our Privacy Policy or the law requires it, and except for aggregated and de-identified information. We do not sell your recordings, publish them, or make them audible to other learners.
You confirm that your content is yours to submit and does not infringe anyone else's rights or break any law.
7. Acceptable use
Do not:
Copy, record, scrape, republish, resell, or redistribute our lessons, audio, video, images, or other materials.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or try to extract the source code of the app, except where the law expressly allows it.
Interfere with the Service, probe it for vulnerabilities, or get around rate limits, paywalls, or access controls.
Use bots or automated means to create accounts or generate activity.
Upload anything unlawful, abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights.
Impersonate anyone, or collect other users' personal information.
Use the Service to build a competing product, or to train a machine learning model on our content.
8. Our content
The Service and everything in it, including lessons, scripts, audio, video, illustrations, software, and the Pronounce Korean name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the Service and its content for your own language learning while your account is in good standing. You get no other rights.
9. Copyright complaints
If you believe something on the Service infringes your copyright, email youseop@speakbridges.com with a description of the work, where the material is on the Service, your contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised. We will investigate and remove infringing material. We may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
10. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties such as app stores, payment providers, and cloud services, and may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices, and their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them.
11. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from within the app.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if your use puts the Service or other users at risk, or if we are required to by law. Unless the breach makes it inappropriate, we will give you notice and, where the problem can be fixed, a chance to fix it.
If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund the unused portion of anything you have paid. If we terminate it because you breached these Terms, we are not required to refund you, except where consumer law says otherwise.
Sections 6, 8, 12, 13, 14, and 15 survive termination.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error free, or that pronunciation scoring will always be accurate. Automated scoring is an aid to practice and can be wrong, particularly with background noise, accents, and unusual microphones. We are not liable for interruptions caused by events outside our reasonable control, including network or app store outages, natural disasters, and government action.
Nothing in this section removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded under the law of the country you live in.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunity.
Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service in any twelve month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period, or fifty US dollars.
These limits do not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or to any other liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you as a consumer.
14. Indemnity
If you use the Service in breach of these Terms or of the law and that causes a third-party claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and legal costs arising from it. This does not apply to the extent the claim results from our own act or omission, and it does not apply where you are acting as a consumer and the law of your country does not permit it.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and the Seoul Central District Court has jurisdiction.
However, if you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. Consumers in the European Union may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform. Consumers in Korea may apply to the Korea Consumer Agency or the Korea Fair Trade Mediation Agency.
Please contact us first. Almost everything is faster to fix by email than by a court.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material or reduces your rights, we will give you at least seven days' notice in the app or by email before it takes effect, and we will say what changed. For changes required by law or to address a security risk, notice may be shorter.
If you do not accept a change, you may stop using the Service and close your account before the change takes effect, and we will refund the unused portion of anything you have already paid. Continuing to use the Service after the change takes effect means you accept the new Terms.
Every version and its effective date is published at web.pronouncekorean.com/policies.
17. App store terms
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us and not with Apple, that Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app, and that Apple is not responsible for the app, for any claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights, or for any product liability or legal compliance claim relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Similar terms apply to Google for downloads from Google Play.
18. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Refunds and Cancellation policy, are the entire agreement between us about the Service. If a provision is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor of our business, and we will tell you if we do.
These Terms were written in English. If we publish a translation and the versions conflict, the English version controls, except where the law of your country requires otherwise.
